Step-by-Step Instructions

Crocheting the Motif (Make 20)

Round 1: With Taupe, chain 5, then slip stitch to the first chain to make a ring. Chain 3 (this counts as your first double crochet). Working over your starting yarn tail, place 11 double crochets into the center of the ring. Slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain-3 to join. Fasten off, but do not turn your work. Pull the starting tail firmly to close the center hole. (12 double crochets)

Round 2: Join Baby Pink with a slip stitch in the stitch right before your fasten-off point. Chain 1. Work a puff stitch in this same stitch. Work a puff stitch in each remaining stitch around. Slip stitch to the top of the first puff stitch to join. Fasten off, but do not turn. (12 puff stitches)

Round 3: Join Mellow Mauve with a slip stitch in the chain-1 space right before your fasten-off point. Chain 2. Work a dc2tog in this same space. Joining the Squares

Lay out your squares in a grid of 4 squares wide by 5 squares long.

First, join the squares into 5 long strips of 4 squares each.

To join, place two squares with their right sides facing each other. Using a whip stitch, sew through only one loop of the stitches on each square, working over any loose tails to secure them as you go. Start and finish at the corner chain spaces.
