Step-by-Step Instructions

Foundation and Row 1

Start by leaving a generous 15-inch yarn tail before making your slip knot. This tail will be used later to cinch the ends.

Chain 13.

Work (1 dc, ch 2, 1 sc) into the fourth chain from your hook.

*Skip the next two chains, then work (2 dc, ch 2, 1 sc) all into the very next chain. Repeat from * across the row until you reach the end. Turn your work. (You will have 4 pattern repeats).

Building the Scarf Body

Fold both outer corners of one end inward by about an inch. Using a simple running stitch, sew back and forth through all the folded layers along the very edge of the scarf.

Pull the yarn tail firmly to cinch the end tightly together. Tie a couple of secure knots to hold the gather in place.

Repeat this entire process on the opposite end of your scarf, then weave in any remaining loose yarn ends.

Attaching the Pom Poms

Using a standard sewing needle and matching thread, securely sew one faux fur pom pom to each of the cinched ends.

Make sure to pass through the elastic loop or fabric base of the pom pom multiple times to keep it from wobbling.
